Based on author Marjorie Kinnan Rawlings' memoir, this moving biographical drama stars Oscar-winning actress Mary Steenburgen (Melvin and Howard).
In the late 1920s, columnist Marjorie moves to rural Florida to write in peace. Despite her husband's eventual departure, the initial suspicion of the locals about her work, and the challenge of finding a worthy subject to devote herself to, she soon discovers the perfect theme for her novel.
Directed by the legendary Martin Ritt (The Long, Hot Summer), the film was nominated for four Academy Awards and the Palme d'Or at the Cannes Film Festival.
