Collection Four debuts the first four films from the Rank era of the farcical films, appearing for the first time worldwide on Blu-ray in high-definition. The box office triumph of the Carry On… film series is as legendary as the top British cast who became synonymous with the long-running franchise. The mere mention of Sid James, Kenneth Williams, Hattie Jacques, Barbara Windsor, Charles Hawtrey, Joan Sims, Jim Dale and Bernard Bresslaw conjure up visions of mirth-making situations, saucy humour and misunderstood intentions. Joining the Carry On… rep company are comedy greats Frankie Howerd, Terry Scott, Dandy Nichols, Roy Castle and legendary American comedian Phil Silvers. Don’t Lose Your Head (1967) It’s 1789 and France’s revolution is taking many to the guillotine. Two daring British gentlemen carry out dangerous rescue missions, but this displeases the leader of the Revolution who instructs his Chief of Police that the head of the Royalists must on no account be rescued. Follow That Camel (1967) Bo, a young English gentleman, is accused of a social blunder. Rejected by the woman he loves, he enlists in the Foreign Legion and sets off for the desert. However, when his beloved back home learns that he has been wrongly accused, she sets off to tell him the news. Carry On Doctor (1967) Doctor Tinkle presides over the wards at Borough County Hospital, where patients, doctors and nurses alike all harbour hidden passions for each other. His stern demeanour is disrupted by the arrival of a young woman from his past who raises the blood pressure of the entire male hospital population. Carry On Up The Khyber (1968) India, 1895 and the British colonials rule. The natives are ready to revolt, prevented from acting only by fear of Britain’s famous ‘Devils in Skirts’, the Scottish regiment protecting the Khyber Pass. When Private Widdle endangers their image, the Khasi of Kalabar seizes the occasion to ignite a revolt.
