In this comedy classic from director William Wyler (Roman Holiday), Laura La Plante (The Cat and the Canary) stars as a bright-eyed dancer who is fired from her chorus line job, cornered by a sly womanizer (Robert Ellis, Broadway), and evicted from her apartment, all in a single day. In the depths of her despair, she is rescued by a handsome Prince Charming (Neil Hamilton, TV's Batman), who turns out to be a wealthy young businessman. Love and marriage follow, but their newlywed bliss is threatened when Paul's uncle (Norman Trevor) recognizes Evelyn from a wild party he had attended. Unable to explain her innocence, Evelyn sets an elaborate trap for the old aristocrat, in hopes that she can expose his error in judgment and regain the confidence of her husband.
